As founder and CEO of Superian Insurance Group, it is my responsibility to develop and maintain a culture which supports our quest to be the specialty insurance group of choice for our clients and partners globally.
Our History
Having started my career in banking specialising in emerging market credit and default swaps, the launch of Servca was after an incidental angel investment I made in a medical agency in 2009. This led to the placement of medical malpractice insurance, which led to the establishment of the company in 2011 and receiving FCA authorisation in 2013. Servca became a Broker at Lloyd’s in 2015, where we built an insurance platform by failing quickly and failing forwards into what is today a global specialty broker, with operations in UK, Europe and North America.
The ‘secret’ to our early success?
As cliché as it sounds, our most valuable lessons were from failures, and a lot of them.
We were never afraid to fail and fix forwards, until we found a way that worked.
It takes a significant level of mental resilience and motivation to keep going endlessly uphill, all at the same time juggling clients, originating business, running a business and keeping the team motivated. Any founder and entrepreneur will tell you the same.
We knew we found a niche and needed to develop it, with service being the core value proposition. We knew our clients recognised our value, we needed to develop a strong proposition and always be first. Something I learnt through failures was that innovation in any business, is fundamental to its existence, as are strong values and a culture that promote growth and dedicated service levels.
Our Journey Ahead
In 2023, we celebrated 10 successful years of independent trading as a directly authorised commercial insurance broker.
Since then, we have realigned our businesses into forming Superian Insurance Group. A specialty insurance group, with integrated expertise and services to cater for our clients and partners globally across all property and casualty lines.
No politics or power-struggles – just a group of talented individuals challenging the status-quo
Our open culture has allowed us to listen and view shifts in the market to constantly adapt and innovate. We know what it takes, which is why we continue to evolve, push and pivot in championing our colleagues and clients.
